In August I started a document titled “Sites to Blog” for my personal blogging entries.  I have managed to get through a few and thought what better time to start up on it again!  Being that my thesis is on how we can use social networking sites in the classroom to engage students, this particular entry will fall under three of my categories.

I am a follower of Mashable on Twitter and suggest anyone who is interested in technology and it’s different uses, must follow Mashable.  This entry is about an article they mentioned on Twitter titled “13 Things to do on Twitter besides Tweet”.  One of the things I like about Mashable is the ability for readers to post comments because many of them follow the article idea and most more uses or ways to get more information.

Of the ones they listed, I have found the following the most interesting:

  • Share Files where you can share files that are 50MB or less on Twitter.
  • Share Music where the articles mentions Songza and also recommends checking out the link 10 Ways to Share Music on Twitter
  • Share Images using Flickr
  • Share Videos using 12seconds (you can send video updates to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, your blog, friendfeed, iTunes and more
  • Social Bookmarking using Fleck Lite for Twitter users only.

There were several more as well as recommended sites to check out, and of course read the comments of readers.  I have found so many useful apps, sites, etc. that I might never get through them all.

Wow I did not realize how much Twitter had evolved! The first time I heard of Twitter was during this program and now people have been in a ‘tweet’ frenzy. But, now we can actually share pictures and other things. I really believe Twitter is going to turn into the new facebook.
